History
Pet owner reported the patient was scratching ears excessively and shaking head, ongoing for 2-3 months. Due to first veterinary visit, no other history was known.
Exam Findings
Bilateral erythematous and pruritic ears; cytology indicated bacterial and yeast otitis.
Laser Treatment Details
Otitis protocol (3-6 J/cm2 total in a non-contact manner to the external ear and pinna, and in a contact manner to the deeper components of the ear) was utilized as a single treatment prior to sending home with topical medications.
Other Treatments
Triz/enrofloxacin/dexamethasone otic topical flush.
Comments
At the three week recheck, ears were significantly less swollen and erythematous; Dr. Erika Watkins commented, “That looks much better” on recheck.
