History
The patient presented with signs of chronic otitis externa, but due to extended history of no veterinary visits no other history was known.
Exam Findings
Bilateral erythematous and pruritic ears with copious exudate; cytology indicated bacterial and yeast otitis.
Laser Treatment Details
Otitis protocol (4-6 J/cm2 total in a non-contact manner to the external ear and pinna, and in a contact manner to the deeper components of the ear) was utilized daily to every other day during patient’s stay in hospital, applied to both ears. Total of eight treatments.
Other Treatments
TrizUltra™ + Keto ear flush w/ dexamethasone and enrofloxacin injectable added to ear flush for 14 days.
Comments
At two week recheck, ears were significantly less painful than starting, less swollen, and color had returned to normal.
