3 year old Thoroughbred Filly
History
Old thrombosis, three weeks duration. Filly started to rub on fence. Previous treatment included NSAIDs and alternating ice and warm moist heat
Diagnostics and Exam Findings
Large traumatic wound on medial right hock. Initially closed with staples however wound opened up the following day and laser was initiated at that point.
Treatment Details
Laser therapy daily for 3 days--6500 J administered each treatment
Frequency of Treatments
Sixteen treatments were applied over 36 days
Presentation
After Third Treatment. Note decrease in swelling and increased vascularization.
After 16 Treatments
