Signalment
Canine, 13 years old, m/n, Cockapoo, "Gus"
History
Sudden onset paresis of both hind legs
Diagnostics and Exam Findings
Physical examination revealed rear limb paresis and proprioceptive deficits bilaterally. Presumed diagnosis- IVDD with rear limb paresis.
Laser Treatment
A deep tissue dose (~15 J/cm2) was delivered on-contact to the thoracic and lumbar spinal segments with the large deep tissue applicator.
Frequency of Treatment
The patient was treated once daily for five days, then tapered to every three days for a total of nine treatments.
Other Treatments
NSAID, muscle relaxant
Comments
After two weeks of intense application of PBMt, the patient was doing well, and the client decided to discontinue further sessions.
