Acquisition provides DJO an entry into veterinary medicine and creates opportunity to expand the Companion® portfolio

Dallas, TX (December 11, 2020) – DJO, LLC (“DJO” or the “Company”), a leading global provider of medical technologies to get and keep people moving, today announced the acquisition of LiteCure®, the parent company of Companion Animal Health. This purchase provides an opportunity for DJO to transform the veterinary industry by commercializing their globally-recognized, market leading recovery sciences products, into innovative care solutions designed for veterinary applications.

The Companion Animal Health brand provides a strong entry point into the thriving animal health space and brings with it an accomplished, dedicated animal health team. DJO plans to leverage parts of its existing product portfolio to augment the strength of the established Companion Animal Health suite of treatment and diagnostic products and further explore incremental growth opportunities in the veterinary care market.

DJO has long respected Companion’s reputation as the market leader in laser therapy and identified immediate synergies with its Recovery Sciences business. “The portfolio complements and expands Companion’s existing therapeutic and diagnostic solutions,” said Terry Ross, President of DJO Recovery Sciences. “Together, we will bring leading technologies and treatment modalities designed to enhance patient outcomes and practice efficiency to veterinary clinics around the world.”

“We are very excited about the immediate and long-term opportunities this provides Companion,” added Dr. Craig Tockman, President of Companion Animal Health. “The acquisition by DJO provides us with an immediate international footprint, additional products that align well with our existing portfolio, and added resources to help us continue to improve the lives of veterinarians, pets, and their owners.”
